Best Green Companies is a partnership between The Sunday Times, leading market-research group Munro Global and environmental consultancy Bureau Veritas.  Each organisation brings its unique skill set to the Best Green Companies venture.

Munro Global manages the whole process, looking after all entrant organisations from registration to reporting.  They also design, build and host the online survey platforms for the employer and employee questionnaires and conduct the data analysis.

Munro Global was formed in June 2006 and has become a recognised centre of excellence in the provision of market research and in 2009 has been shortlisted for Best Agency of the year by the research industry body the MRS.  Munro’s subsidiaries include FDS International, acefieldwork, Maven Research, M-Lab Research, 3000ft Strategic Insight, and Munro Operations.

Environmental consultants Bureau Veritas design the questionnaires and the scoring mechanisms on which the competition is judged, they also and validate the data provided by entrant companies with a series of remote and on site verification checks.

Since its foundation in 1828, the Bureau Veritas Group has consistently built recognised expertise, helping clients comply with standards and regulations relating to Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility.

Together Munro Global and Bureau Veritas are also responsible for the production of the Green List rankings and produce the reports that each entrant company receives after results of the competition have been published.

The Sunday Times publishes the Green List and their editorial team, lead by Alastair McCall, skilfully wordsmith the supplement which is published in May.  The paper is also responsible for the awards  event that precedes publication.

The aim of our venture is for Best Green Companies to become the benchmark for environmental excellence against which companies are able to measure their own performance year-on-year and to compare with other businesses operating at a similar level of environmental impact.
